My Outfits in Paris + Style Observations

Today is my first day back from my amazing trip to Paris. Here are a few of my favorite outfit combinations that I wore throughout my trip. It was quite chilly in Paris so I took my vintage jean jacket with me and wore it whenever it was cold. I took shoes that I knew I could walk the whole day around in. I alternated between my gold colored gladiator sandals and my black Converse high tops. Something that I learned about style and clothing choices in Paris is that both men and women live in their pants all year long and you can hardly ever spot them wearing shorts (unless with tights). So I thought that I fit in rather smoothly with my dark denim skinny jeans. As for my black skater skirt; I ended up matching with other teenage girls from America. However, I do not regret taking the skirt to Paris because Parisians also love dresses and skirts and my skirt is especially easy to pair with almost anything since it is black and high-waisted. I do regret not taking a scarf because Parisians do wear a lot of scarves, even in the summer, and make their outfits look so effortless and chic by just throwing on a scarf, jacket, leaving their hair messy, and pulling their whole look together with a bold lip hue.

Summer Fashion Trends For Guys

Yes ladies and gents, you have read the word “summer”, I hope you have all been enjoying the sun! I’ve been all about girl fashion lately so I think it’s time to bring the guys into the spotlight. So here is a list I came up with along with pictures and descriptions:

1. Floral and tropical: You don’t have to be flamboyant or be in love with girly prints to wear floral if you’re a guy. Floral is vibrant, bold, loud but also very versatile and stylish.

 

2. V-Necks: A reason you may not like your shirt is because it makes you look like you have no neck or it has a weird collar that makes your neck and shoulders look horrible. A V-neck shirt almost never disappoints and always makes guys look good. If you don’t have some already make sure to invest in them for summer and other seasons!

3. White: I especially love this color choice for the summer because if you’re tan, this is your go to color.

4. Graphic Tees: Even if you are someone that doesn’t give a hoot about fashion, throw on a graphic tee and you will look effortlessly stylish, simple as that! An awesome place to get one is from Amazon.

5. Blue: More specifically baby blue or teal but whatever floats your boat; I think that every guy looks good in baby blue so go pick one out!

6. Camouflage: Pick lightweight fabrics that are t-shirts, tanks, or shorts in this cool and trendy print.

How To: Skirts/Dresses In Winter

People often catch me wearing my summer dresses and skirts during the winter. I don’t understand why people don’t do the same, everyone packs away their skirts and dresses and only re-open that part of their closet again when the snow begins to melt. Sometimes I admit, my prints are too tropical for the winter, but a simple floral dress or a frilly, pencil, circle, or maxi skirt is perfect for even the cold days.

To keep yourself warm, get yourself into some tights, slide into some cute legwarmers, and throw on a cardigan; this creates the ultimate cozy look. I always opt for my classic black tights but at the bottom of my drawer, I have my awesome burgundy tights waiting for me, so I’ll have to take a risk and try to rock those eventually. I recommend you also experiment with colorful or patterned tights, but please restrain yourself from looking like you’re in a Halloween costume. Now, you can wear really any of your summer dresses but there are dresses actually meant for freezing weather too. For example, long-sleeved, wool, or maxi dresses and skirts are perfect for winter. Finish your look with riding boots, if the dress is above your knees, combat boots, or ankle boots.

A Fashion-Related Life Update

Fellow bloggers-

Please excuse my recent absence from WordPress but high school sucked me in with all of its homework and activities… which reminds me! I looked into my high school’s costume designing crew for the theater and decided to join! I am really excited to be part of the costume making. I can’t wait to stock up on new skills like sewing! And yes, I don’t know how to sew, but now I get to learn how! This experience will give me more incite into the fashion world and hopefully kick-start my fashion career!! I will definitely upload pictures of any outfits that I helped design for any of you that would like to see. Please let me know by commenting if you have any tips/ advice for me!

White On White

White is the perfect color for summer. Unlike black, it is a color that brings peace and serenity to any outfit. Today I want to write about the “all white” look. I specifically mean a white shirt/blazer with white pants/shorts/skirt, not a white dress.

The key to not looking like a nurse is wearing two different fabrics together and styling with hot accessories. I personally would go for easy, neutral jewelry, but others may prefer neon or colorful accessories. Both will look great! You may just want to wear an all white outfit so the spotlight shines on your beautiful bracelets or necklace…think of your all-white outfit as a canvas for awesome jewelry!

Did I mention this is a great look for guys as well? Men, like women, can wear an all-white outfit casually, (white polo, with white pants or shorts) or dress it up with a full on white suit!

It is a fact that white bottoms can make you look a little bit heavier than you actually are. So please avoid white trousers if you are pear shaped and opt for white wash jeans instead! 🙂 But you should keep in mind that white denim may also not flatter your body shape if they are not the right fit, so invest in a pair that will serve you well! If you have an hourglass figure, just choose well fitted white trousers.

Notice how Karla (famous fashion blogger) paired her super casual outfit with a metallic gold clutch and silver heels. The silver and gold complement each other on their white canvas, this outfit is perfect, don’t you think? You may have also observed that the pretty lady on the left paired her fabulous ensemble with simple black heels and a petite brown bag, you can try the same!

 

 

When buying something white, it’s important to make sure that the item (especially pants) is not see-through. You can check this by holding the dress, for example, up to a light. Also, since white can tend to highlight your flaws, I would ask for the opinion of a stylish friend, before buying the piece. Therefore, investing in a quality white clothing item is important because you can wear it year after year, and summer after summer. (:
