My Favorite Fall Trends!!

The first fall trend that I am obsessed with is mini skirts! They have made a come back from the 90s with people wearing a variety of different skirts such as pocket skirts, jean skirts, and high-waisted skirts. These are awesome for showing off your legs and overall look really great paired with a sweater or crop top.

Another skirt trend I love for the fall is the pencil skirt. Pencil skirts of all kinds flatter all body types and can be dressed up and dressed down. While many pencil skirts are made out of thin fabric, you can also find cozy knitted pencil skirts that function better for chilly weather.

Boyfriend jeans are another very trendy item for fall. They look so laid back, cool, and are super comfy!

My last favorite is the turtleneck crop top. This top is a little bit odd because its knit and sleeveless; therefore people normally don’t know how to wear it for days that are chilly. However, this problem is easily solved because it looks really cute under a cardigan or jacket! I prefer the long sleeve turtleneck crop top that looks amazing with anything that is high waisted.

Tell me what your favorite trend for fall is!

Transition Your Crop Tops Into Fall

The crop top is a piece that can be worn during all of the seasons, not only summer. Although you can wear a shirtsleeve crop top in the fall, the best choice would be to invest in several long sleeve crop tops for the cold days. Of course if your short sleeve shirt won’t keep you warm, then bring a knit cardigan or jacket that you could throw on! Here are several ways that you can wear them in the fall:

Wear crop tops with a maxi skirt:

Wear them with high-waisted pants:

Wear them with shorts and tights:

Jason Wu, Sergio Rossi, Topshop, Crop top, Celine bag, Miu Miu

Wear them with a circle skirt or skater  skirt:

Wear them with any kind of high-waisted skirt:

Fall Lip Colors

Dark Blood Red/Burgundy:  If you are looking for dark, deep, dramatic lipstick, burgundy is it! Promise me that you will try this lip color because I just adore it for fall!

Apricot: This color is so pretty because it is orange, yet it still has hints of pink. With this lip color, I would apply one coat of brown mascara and a dash of pink blush on your cheek bones.

Deep Pink Berry:  I love shades that represent the leaves changing colors and the this shade of lip color hints that winter is on its way. I think this color is especially beautiful on brunettes.

Nude: Dramatic eyes and nude lipstick look amazing together. You won’t regret the decision of buying this skin toned lipstick.

Confidence is key so apply your glosses, lip balms, and lipsticks, and just rock that gorgeous face!

Black Is My Favorite Color

Black is the color worth wearing. Black is calming and serene, unlike many other colors. Every time I try to pick an outfit I just can’t seem to stay away from black. Black is the color of confidence but not cockiness.  However, someone once told me that the color of my clothing is depressing. So I tried really hard to come up with a colorful outfit the night before school, but in the morning I changed my mind and threw on a black and white striped shirt with dark wash jeans and converse last minute. Black is a solution for many of us because it is the perfect base color for any outfit.  The truth about black though, is that it is not depressing at all! If anything looks depressing it’s most likely your personality, not your clothing. Black is chic and classy. It is also a very powerful color on women and men. People have been wearing it for ages and it just suits everyone (don’t forget it’s slimming too).  Wear black with confidence and don’t let anybody tell you differently. So now you know my little secret; black is my favorite color.

Fellow bloggers-

Please excuse my recent absence from WordPress but high school sucked me in with all of its homework and activities… which reminds me! I looked into my high school’s costume designing crew for the theater and decided to join! I am really excited to be part of the costume making. I can’t wait to stock up on new skills like sewing! And yes, I don’t know how to sew, but now I get to learn how! This experience will give me more incite into the fashion world and hopefully kick-start my fashion career!! I will definitely upload pictures of any outfits that I helped design for any of you that would like to see. Please let me know by commenting if you have any tips/ advice for me!

I really appreciate if you actually took the time to read this!

Military Inspired Clothing

Some military details I love, but some are ugly. Everyone either loves or hates the olive green color seen in the pictures below. Many women love the flap pockets and golden buttons, while others like more feminine and pretty details. Let me know what you think in the comments!

The balmain jackets are very broad shouldered with the pads and double breasted buttons. They can make a petite girl look really wide and clunky!

Also where is the line drawn between costume and clothing?

You can dress the military inspired jacket up or down. Create a super casual look with some jeans and boots, maybe over a floral ruffled shirt of your choosing. Your favorite print can go with this color since it is a neutral. In the Teen Vogue shoot, the stylist chose to pair the green trench coat with a leapard print and an oxford shirt. Try to pair it with brown leather leggings! Mix different trends.

Do you like the olive green colored jackets or pants? I personally believe the color is very ugly. It is a mixture of camel with dark green and creates the ugly military color.

On the other hand, it is a neutral that can go with everything, it was seen all over the fall runways and stars like Beyonce were found sporting it. She paired an army green jacket with a gray tee shirt and cropped camo pants.

How to wear it?

Military clothing is not just olive green dresses or jackets. All you need to do is add a touch of something that looks military inspired such as buttons, chains, and structured collars! A very sexy and chic look is a black military dress or long trench coat with a pair of black boots to match. Another great option is camel! These can all be military inspired!

What to look for:

  • Brass buttons
  • Navy
  • Cargo pockets
  • Pleating
  • Belt loops

  • Double-breasted front
  • Flap Pockets
  • Zipper detailing
  • Cuff sleeves
  • Army Green

“Military details have been always around, but not always as obvious as at this moment — with all the feminine details that have been extremely popular recently, it’s the perfect time to layer in that ‘boy’ element.”~Marissa Webb, J.Crew’s vice president of women’s design

Keira Knightley

Keira Knightly is a beauty to look at. Her features are so unique and pretty. When she goes out, she only wears a little mascara, which I admire. Not only is Keira beautiful, she is also smart, strong, and has a wonderful spirit. When Keira was young, she never really had an interest in fashion. However, as she grew and matured, she seemed to discover her personal style. Keira Knightley wears chic and vintage clothing or she rocks the tomboy style.

It was very exciting for all of us Keira Knighley fans when we found out that Keira gets to do another Vogue shoot! But this one was especially magical. From the haute couture to knitted veils this shoot was absolutely stunning.

Keira transformed into her character, Anna Karenina, reflecting the movie’s 19th century vibe. Keira said that, “coming onto the shoot, the hair is different, the makeup is different, but it’s a different way of seeing her.” I LOVED the hair! It was very out of this world and cool. Okay now I want to discuss Keira’s white feathered couture gown. I think it definitely rings some wedding bells. 😉 The feathers were a really beautiful detail on the dress. The blue background looks so enchanting with the fair color of her dress.

Keira poses in a red coat dress. I like the edginess that the medal belt brings to the outfit, but I wish she had black heels on instead. I’m not completely sure what is on top of her head, but the weirdness of it just goes and is very interesting to look at. Although I like the way Keira is modeling the rich colored coat, I think it makes her waist looks to small. This hourglass figure is not very flattering…

Keira is dressed in a timeless black velvet column gown with embellished neckline by Armani Privé. The picture looks like a creepy abstract painting. Keira Knightly’s pose is strikingly strange yet stunning.

Keira wears a blue and rose pink floral embroidered peplum top over cigarette pants. This is a past-meets-present take on evening dressing. It’s funny how floral is usually a very chic and happy print but with the black pants and creepy black hat it created a very odd effect.

Keira wears a midnight blue gown that is silk brocade embroidered with a William Morris Tree of Life–inspired motif. I love this gorgeous color that compliments Keira’s pale skin and practically glows with beauty.

Keira wears some of the creatively designed costumes for the shoot. The hat is a master piece, it looks like a blooming flower complementing a pretty violet dress. Jacqueline Durran should really be applauded on her beautiful designs.

I hope you enjoyed this post!!:D Please let me know what you think in the comments!
