I think it’s pretty funny what goes into style sometimes. Somehow a fruit made it onto countless items for both genders such as sunglasses, earrings, shirts, dresses, shorts, pants… you name it! (By the way: I call dibs on being the first one to determine that the watermelon trend is next!) My guess as to why pineapples became so popular is because they remind people of summer and exotic places like Hawaii. The crown of the pineapple looks similar to the leaves of a palm tree which is also another popular print this season. People love the look of anything tropical and happy for summer which is why the yellow color of the pineapple is so appealing to people. Pineapples are more then just a yummy fruit, they are also a symbol of hospitality and welcome. Leave me a comment on why you think this unexpected fashion trend became so popular!

Overalls are a very tricky piece of clothing to be able to pull off. Many of you may recognize them as a piece that has existed ever since your childhood. Overalls are have been brought back from the 90’s and are now being sold in nearly every store. They are sold in many different forms that include different colors, styles, prints, and more.
On a cooler day in the summer you can try out overalls that are meant to keep you a little warmer with a crisp white collared shirt underneath. With the overalls that Watson is sporting, she could have also paired them with a simple short sleeve shirt or a patterned collared shirt; there are endless options.
With regular short cut overalls you can style it with a crop top underneath and bare your midriff. I especially love how cute the girl below made the trend look because she chose an adorable white lace shirt and a flower headband to pair the jean overalls with.
Adding interesting accessories to snazz up your outfit and make it look automatically stylish.
Add a colorful or patterned shirt under the overalls for a more playful and fun look.
Enjoy this cute trend this summer and let me know what you think of it!
Yes ladies and gents, you have read the word “summer”, I hope you have all been enjoying the sun! I’ve been all about girl fashion lately so I think it’s time to bring the guys into the spotlight. So here is a list I came up with along with pictures and descriptions:
1. Floral and tropical: You don’t have to be flamboyant or be in love with girly prints to wear floral if you’re a guy. Floral is vibrant, bold, loud but also very versatile and stylish.
2. V-Necks: A reason you may not like your shirt is because it makes you look like you have no neck or it has a weird collar that makes your neck and shoulders look horrible. A V-neck shirt almost never disappoints and always makes guys look good. If you don’t have some already make sure to invest in them for summer and other seasons!
3. White: I especially love this color choice for the summer because if you’re tan, this is your go to color.
4. Graphic Tees: Even if you are someone that doesn’t give a hoot about fashion, throw on a graphic tee and you will look effortlessly stylish, simple as that! An awesome place to get one is from Amazon.
5. Blue: More specifically baby blue or teal but whatever floats your boat; I think that every guy looks good in baby blue so go pick one out!
6. Camouflage: Pick lightweight fabrics that are t-shirts, tanks, or shorts in this cool and trendy print.
I can go on and on so if you would like for me to do a part two, I would be glad to do so! Please let me know what you thought of this post in the comments!
It’s been a while since I’ve updated BOLDMODE but that’s because I was in California for the past week!
I recently bought a super cute crop top from T.J. Maxx and I have been wearing it all the time.
Crop tops are perfect for the hot summer days. They are easy to throw over a bikini and feel really light and cool.
The belly-baring trend has been popping up on red carpets, pool parties, and on the streets.
As crop tops were becoming more and more popular, so were high-waisted shorts. I think that crop tops go best with high-waisted shorts especially because put together, this outfit has a really distinct 1990’s feel. This outfit combination is more flattering then you think because the slimmest part on a women’s body is typically the mid-riff. But if you are curvy buy the mid-length” crop top, which is a little longer.
But besides high-waisted shorts, you can also wear a crop top with a high-waisted pencil skirt or high-waisted jeans, really just high-waisted anything! If you prefer not to expose your tummy then you can easily slip a tank under your crop top. And even though crop tops are not for everyone, they are still meant to be admired as a fashion statement.
It’s been a while since I have updated my blog, and I’m sorry about that, but I really was busy and didn’t have any extra time! New York was wonderful, and if I could…I would stay there the whole summer.
My ultimate fashion experience was at the Metropolitan Museum. The museum is currently showing the exhibit, PUNK: Chaos to Couture, which is organized by The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. It examines how the punk style impacted high fashion, from the 1970’s to the present time. The exhibit was absolutely amazing and so cool! It is open up until the 14th of August, so if you happen to be in New York, I really recommend for you to visit.
I found a really cheap nail salon, and I chose one of my favorite colors for my fingers: coral!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
P.S.- I will be posting more often now since it’s summer!
Instantly brighten up your day with this sunny color. Yellow looks really pretty with baby blue, silver, and even orange! I would do a light pink lip with any outfit that focuses on the color yellow. While re-watching one of my favorite episodes from the stylish show Gossip Girl, I fell in love with the summer outfits that the characters were wearing. In one of scenes, all of the girls were wearing an ensemble which involved the happy color yellow, take an example from all of these outfits and create your own! 🙂
“Rip off those jeans and put on those shorts” because it is almost summer time, baby! It has finally begun to warm up where I live and I’m really excited to start wearing my shorts! Now when I say shorts, I don’t mean running shorts or knee long jean shorts (LAME.) I mean cute jean shorts! I wouldn’t go for just your plain old blue jean shorties, I would try to be a little more… bold this summer and spring. Go for printed, and colorful, even leather, shorts. May I just add that if your skin is dark or very tan, neon shorts will look amazing on you! Remember that if your shorts are already printed, do not wear a printed top with them unless you really know what you’re doing. Add a cute pair of sandals, flats, or sneakers with your shorts; avoid boots and crocs. If you don’t feel it’s appropriate to wear neon or floral shorts at your age, then just settle for nude or pastel colored shorts. Colors like white, beige, “sand”, even burgundy and faded colored short shorts might be the best fit for you! Everywhere I look in stores right now, I see the cutest shorts on sale, so you must check them out!! There are also some really pretty floral and striped shorts for women that are shown below. If you do decide to wear plain jean short shorts, try to buy shorts that have cool and unique details and designs, which make them special! (:
I’m back from Vacation and am more then ready to get back to adding new posts hopefully a lot this week! So stay tuned!
PLL stands for pretty little liars, which is my favorite show! This week I will be dedicated to finding the fashion of the characters from pretty little liars. I was waiting for one of the girls to follow the peplum trend and who better to than Aria?! While following the crowd she still manages to add her unique flare by buying it in a wacky print by the ever so flamboyant Betsey Johnson.
Like if you love this dress! 🙂 Thanks for reading ❤
