How to: stylish guy without being flamboyant

Every girl loves a sharply-dressed and stylish guy. Some good stores for guys to shop at are: L.L. Bean, J.Crew, Banana Republic, H&M, Target, Levi’s Jeans, Urban Outfitters, Gap, and Old Navy. Below I’ve provided several outfit ideas with detailed descriptions and suggestions for where to acquire some of these much-needed clothing items:

You know this guy is really cool as soon as you see him. He simply took a gray fitted hoody (notice that fitted hoodys look great and really cool on both guys and girls) and complimented it with my favorite colored pants for men, which have just a touch of sag to them, and clean white kicks. Owning a pair of white kicks is an excellent idea, for they go with everything and spice up a dull colored outfit.

Girls: you may recognize this pretty face from Vampire Diaries, but guys, take a look at this great outfit. Striped shirts of any kind are a must have in your closet, they are snazzy and absolutely delightful, plus girls love stripes on guys. Over the striped shirt he wears a white cardigan. Now I admit that a cardigan may be a difficult piece for a regular guy to pull off, but it really completes his outfit and gives a look of comfort. But of course the best item from this outfit is the combat boots…um hot. High five to the stylist. You can team combat boots up with formal attire or a simple jeans and T-shirt look. The best way to wear them is by tucking in your jeans into your boots. But avoid overly saggy or buggy jeans.

Bring out your inner hipster with this kind of an outfit. Who knows, maybe it’ll be your thing? This gentleman wears a washed-down tribal print button down with rolled-up sleeves. Since the shirt is rather large, he paired it with skinny jeans. If skinny jeans are out of your comfort zone, then you can try fitted pants. Fitted pants are the balance between skinny or and saggy. If you are having a bad hair day, a beanie would be perfect to hid that hair, but it also looks great in general, and with almost any casual outfit. To avoid looking cheap and rugged, he wore nice boat shoes.

Those are sweat pants but they’re not! You gotta love those pants. He matched a long sleeve black shirt with a white shirt under it and really sweet black and white shoes. Wonderful.

I always say that layering is really important. One of the easiest layers you could do is take a collared long sleeve and slip it under a sweater one or two times bigger. The collared shirt can be a different pattern or color, experiment!

Urban Outfitters Geometric Jewelry

Hi Fashionistas!

I was at Urban Outfitters today, and I noticed they had the cutest trendiest  jewelry there! Although before you get all excited I have to warn you, they are not cheap, so if you are not a broke teenager like me, you should consider buying some of the geometric jewelry.

Image

I love this necklace! You can wear it with almost anything, because the color is so pretty and matches everything. If you like this necklace you should consider the matching earrings! I was looking at the reviews and since I’m not going to sugar coat everything some people did say that their necklaces broke and were poor quality 😦 while others said they loved their necklace and that it was good quality. So you will have to decide your self, and let me know if you bought it! Its cost is $29.

I think this triangle necklace is sweet! It really completes a look. It costs $18.

You can by this edgy bracelet in both gold and silver. I would wear this bracelet with two or three other bracelets. I love the look of this bracelet, but again the quality is not the best so be careful with the bracelet.
The cost of the bracelet is $14.

This bracelet is very sweet and delicate. The design is really simple and minimal. The bangle is also light weight and won’t weigh your wrist down. You can choose any letter to make it unique. Cost is $12. But again, these bracelets are very fragile and break easily, sadly. 😦

Thank you so much for reading!

The next post will be around Tuesday, since I will be out of town until then.

Scarf Fashion Trend

My wardrobe must have is scarves. This is an important accessory for the fall. Scarves can bring texture, color, and fashion to an ordinary outfit. Stay warm and stylish through out fall and winter with your scarves. Tip: If you are wearing a printed shirt then wear a solid colored scarf. And if you have a scarf with a print then wear a shirt with no print. Even if you live somewhere warm year round, lightweight scarves are still must-have accessories.

Have fun with your scarves!

Fashion Trend: Collars

No longer are collars just a uniform part of a garment anymore, they are a important detail on dresses and blouses now. They have become an added detail to an outfit, rather than just supporting a classic white shirt. Statement collars don’t require a shirt or printed pants for definition; they’re an individual trend in the running.

Image

The trend is focused especially on collars of the prim and polished variety (think rounded Peter Pan-style or simple and pointed) that are buttoned up all the way to the top. Celebrities such as Carey Mulligan and Alexa Chung are layering collared shirts under their crew neck sweaters. It’s part menswear-inspired, part schoolgirl chic, and the look popped up on fall 2011 runways as well as for spring 2012.

Image

Look for lace, origami or floral printed collars for them to stand out and make a statement. So, whether you’re wearing the collar as a supporting accessory or as a statement piece in your outfit, this fabric around your collarbones will reinstate your personality.
