My Step by Step Hair Bun Tutorial

Ever since my hair grew past my shoulders I have been tying my hair up in a bun. A bun is an easy and fun way to get the hair up and out of your face. Here are two of my favorite buns that I sport at least twice a week to school. I am not sure if this works on all types of hair, but I know that you should have long and thick-ish hair 🙂 This is my first tutorial of anything, so let me know if you want me to do any more tutorials! Please also ask if you are confused about a step!

Messy High Bun

step 1) Bring all of your hair into a high ponytail, bumps don’t really matter since this is messy.

Step 1 prt2

step 2) Next, as you bring your hair through the hair binder, stop a little more then half way.

step 1

step 3:  Now twist the binder around the part where you stopped. You will have a very large loop, but don’t let go yet.

step 2

step 4) The hair binder is now on your hand, so pull it over your hand and the bun itself, while also stuffing the outside remains into the binder and big bun.

Step 4

step 5) You should have one short strand stuck outside of the big bun. Take the strand and pull it around the bun to make the bun tighter and more pulled together. Then tuck it into the binder, so you can’t see it anymore.

Step 5

step 6) Take any left over strands and tuck them into the big bun. If your bun is really loose, then you can take another hair binder and tie it around your bun twice.

Step 6

The final product should look something like this:

Sophisticated High Bun:

step 1) Tie your hair into a high ponytail.

Step 1 prt2

step 2) Flip your ponytail over to one side of your head and put your finger in between the stem(where the binder is) and the ponytail.

Step 2 prt2

Step 3: Begin to wrap the hair around your finger. It will basically look like a doughnut bun but without the doughnut. If using a finger is not helping you, like I intended it to, you may remove your finger, and just try wrapping your hair around with out it.

Step 3 prt 2

step 4) once you have wrapped all the hair around, take a second hair binder and tie it around the bun with one hand, while still holding the bun with the other hand.

Step 4 prt.2

step 6: secure the bun with pins and clips if needed, and add hair gel or hair spray to prevent any fly-aways; you want this to look slick!

Final prt 2

The final product should look like this:

Simple T-Shirt, Fancy Skirt

Some people just don’t seem to understand this trend. This is a really simple and easy way of getting out of the door quickly. Simply find a cute and basic t-shirt and a fancy skirt, put them together, and BAM you have a fabulous outfit. It’s really a go-to outfit for me. First, I pick out a pencil skirt or any kind of fancy skirt, and then I find a casual shirt that goes well with the skirt. I usually go with pretty fancy shoes, and don’t forget to accessorize!! In fact, if I were to describe my style, I would describe it as a nice balance between fancy and casual. You will look effortlessly put together and chic. Now, this won’t cut it if you are going to a wedding, but you can wear this to work, school, or parties.

P.S- I would make a run to Old Navy for some new tees if you want 😉

Fall Lip Colors

Dark Blood Red/Burgundy:  If you are looking for dark, deep, dramatic lipstick, burgundy is it! Promise me that you will try this lip color because I just adore it for fall!

Apricot: This color is so pretty because it is orange, yet it still has hints of pink. With this lip color, I would apply one coat of brown mascara and a dash of pink blush on your cheek bones.

Deep Pink Berry:  I love shades that represent the leaves changing colors and the this shade of lip color hints that winter is on its way. I think this color is especially beautiful on brunettes.

Nude: Dramatic eyes and nude lipstick look amazing together. You won’t regret the decision of buying this skin toned lipstick.

Confidence is key so apply your glosses, lip balms, and lipsticks, and just rock that gorgeous face!
